MANE KANCOR WINS GOLD!

Mane Kancor won the EHS Gold Award for the “Best Organisation for Overall EHS Practices”. The award was announced at the CII Inter-Industry Competition on EHS 2021 & Sharing of best practices on Environment, Health and Safety Management (EHS). The event was held on the 23rd of July.

The objective of this competition was to evaluate the EHS preparedness in developing sustainable growth in organisations at three levels – Economy, Society and Environment. The categories included Environment, Health, Safety and these three levels combined.

Mane Kancor in its application demonstrated how the organisation is committed to creating a safe and healthy working environment. The team showcased a culture of work place safety, health and welfare that will benefit all the stakeholders and community around Mane Kancor. The organisation achieved this by working in partnership with employees, vendors, customers and the company’s extended stakeholders through appropriate and effective communication, training, and enforcement.

The team also presented the project “Wealth from Waste,” an initiative that is implemented for the conversion of ETP sludge to biofuel in a boiler. This project was adjudged as the Best Project in the organisation-wide innovation challenge conducted for the year 2020-21.

The award was virtually presented to Mathew Varghese, Vice President – Operations, Jayamohanan C, Associate Head – Operations, Jo George, Associate Head – Industrial Safety & IR, Gabriel Anand Paul, Team Leader – Production and Mohammed Raffique, Senior Associate – HSE.
