In a significant stride towards fostering inclusivity and empowerment, we are pleased to announce our collaboration with Welfare Services Ernakulam on their latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at improving skill development and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Welfare Services Ernakulam has been a leader in the development sector for over 58 years, championing initiatives that raise awareness, build capacity, and enhance access to welfare programmes for persons with disabilities (PwDs). Recognising the barriers PwDs face in securing mainstream employment, this partnership seeks to dismantle obstacles and cultivate a more inclusive workforce.
The funded programme provided skill training in nursery techniques and management for 30 individuals with disabilities over a 15 to 20-day period. Following the completion of the training, a nursery was established in Champannoor village, Angamaly, utilising land already owned by Welfare Services Ernakulam. This initiative not only equips participants with valuable skills for sustainable livelihoods but also enriches their quality of life through increased self-sufficiency and social engagement.
At Mane Kancor, we are committed to the principles of inclusivity and support initiatives that empower marginalised communities. Through our partnership with Welfare Services Ernakulam, we aim to contribute to a more equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. We were honoured to have Mr. Jean Mane (President, MANE) and Ms. Samantha Mane (Director – EMEA Region, MANE) inaugurate the nursery alongside key representatives, including Fr. Joseph Koluthuvellil (Executive Director, WSE), Dr. Geemon Korah (Director and CEO, Mane Kancor), Mr. Vivek Jain (Chief Financial Officer – India and Sri Lanka, MANE Kancor), Mr. Pratap Vallikkaden (Senior Vice President – Business, MANE Kancor), Mr. Mathew Varghese (Senior Vice President – Operations, MANE Kancor), and Mr. Martin Jacob (Vice President HR, MANE Kancor).
