An accompaniment to traditional soups or pastas, breadsticks are classic and traditional baked bread. The flavour from the heat-stable encapsulated garlic makes them truly irresistible.
Take warm water in a bowl and add yeast and sugar. Set aside. In another bowl, add all-purpose flour and encapsulated garlic. Mix well. Add the yeast mix to the flour to form a dough and knead well. Whisk salt and butter together, and add to the dough. Once nicely kneaded, place the dough in a bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let it ferment in a warm place for 25–30 minutes.
Once the dough has risen, place it on a floured surface and knock out the excess air. Preheat the oven to 175°C. Cut the dough into small balls and roll them into thin breadstick shapes. Place them on a tray and apply olive oil. Bake for 10 minutes at 175°C. Once baked, apply olive oil again and let them cool.
Note: All the baked products are made in a combi rational oven, so temperatures and timings might vary in regular ovens.
