Mindful of the adverse environmental implications posed by non-biodegradable sanitary products, Mane Kancor’s CSR Panel has launched a transformative initiative called Project ‘SAFED’ (SAFE and Ecological Disposal of Sanitary Pads).
The rising volume of disposable sanitary waste necessitates the implementation of a proper disposal mechanism to prevent it from ending up in landfills and oceans.
Through this noble endeavour, we donated Sanitary Napkin Incinerators to schools in India, fostering a culture of eco-consciousness and responsible waste management. As a part of the project, we meticulously installed user-friendly electric incinerators in 19 schools recommended by our employees.
‘Safed’ meaning ‘white’ in Hindi, evokes ideas of cleanliness, goodness and right course of action. Just like its name, these incinerators will dispose of sanitary waste, eradicating any potential health hazards posed to local communities and the environment. Project ‘Safed’ also aims to empower young girls by promoting proper menstrual hygiene practices. By encouraging a clean and hygienic school environment, the initiative strives to create a sense of well-being among students.
