A DEDICATION TO WILDLIFE PROTECTION AND SUSTAINABLE COEXISTENCE

At Mane Kancor, we continue to advance our commitment to ecological preservation through our yearly partnership with Grow Trees. This year’s focus, the Trees for Elephants® project, is dedicated to supporting Asian elephants in the foothills of the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, Jharkhand. Rapid habitat loss and degraded forest patches have pushed elephants closer to human settlements, increasing conflict. To restore their natural pathways and strengthen forest health, 15,000 trees will be planted across crucial movement corridors.

These plantations include elephant-preferred species such as Mango, Mahua, Jackfruit, Teak, Shisham and Jamun, helping replenish food sources and offer shade along migratory routes. Complementary species like Neem, Pongame, Sarifa, Nimbu and Acacia will enrich the surrounding landscape and provide valuable resources such as fodder and fuel wood for local communities.

The project also creates social impact by generating employment for rural households, with dedicated participation from women. The expanding green cover will support water retention, improve soil quality, and strengthen agriculture through better moisture conservation and reduced erosion.

At Mane Kancor, we believe conservation must benefit both wildlife and the people who share their environment. Through the Trees for Elephants® initiative, we aim to promote coexistence, restore ecological balance, and help secure a thriving future for Jharkhand’s elephant populations and its communities.
