Coriander Ground

This Mediterranean spice is the dried fruit of the ‘Coriandrum sativum’ plant. The seed matures from green to brown-yellow and is picked at this stage for reduced bitterness. Touted the best for immunity, it was often kept in the tombs of pharaohs for use in the afterlife. It is a spherical pod with a flavour profile similar to sage – sweet and earthy with citrusy undertones. It releases a pepper-like warm aroma with floral undertones. It contains high amounts of Potassium, Vitamins A and C, Fibre, Folate, Protein, and Calcium. It is said to have digestive, antiseptic, and antioxidant properties.  It may help alleviate the symptoms of eczema, cold, food poisoning, and constipation. It could help keep the liver healthy, reduce blood pressure, and clear bad cholesterol.
