Cumin seed oil is obtained by the steam distillation of seeds of Cuminum Cyminum. The oil is a free-flowing liquid that is pale yellow to dark brownish yellow. It has a sweet cyminic top note with a fatty, cuminic, spicy base note. Major components of the product are Beta pinene, gama terpene, para cymene and cuminaldehyde.
